THE IMPACT
STATEMENT PODCAST

THE IMPACT STATEMENT is a weekly podcast that provides returning citizens the
opportunity to share the harm and trauma they suffered through incarceration and how
they are still being victimized by systems along the continuum of care after paying their debt to society. The podcast will be a platform that gives a voice to the marginalized and voiceless. When re-entrants return to the community, they often don't talk about the harm or trauma that was caused by their crime and/or their time spent behind bars. Consequently, some re-entrants return to their comfort zone and end up recidivating. They return to their old ways that led them down the wrong path while failing to address the harm caused. Therefore, the stories on this podcast will be their IMPACT STATEMENT where they will share the barriers and challenges that they continue to face as they reintegrate back in the community.
